The dogma of the Immaculate Conception professes, as Blessed Pope Pius IX proclaimed on December 8, 1854: “The most Blessed Virgin Mary was, from the first moment of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege of almighty God and by virtue of the merits of Jesus Christ, Saviour of the human race, preserved immune from all stain of original sin.” — Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Together we pray “Hail Mary, full of grace the Lord is with Thee. Blessed art Thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb.”
Our school namesake honours the grace by which our Blessed Virgin Mary was born and would become the mother of Jesus Christ, our Lord, our Saviour and our Redeemer. Immaculate Conception Catholic Elementary School is named after Mary, our Blessed Mother who was born free of original sin.
