With the onset of colder weather, it is important that our students are appropriately dressed for the weather. This means that students are coming to school in full-length clothing and wearing jackets or coats, gloves, hats, mitts, scarves, etc. Students are expected to be outside at recess and the fresh air and exercise does them good. When wet weather arrives, it is a good idea for students to have snow pants and an additional pair of pants and socks in their school bags.
Please note that Immaculate Conception’s inclement weather temperature has been set to –20 degrees Celcius. That means if the temperature (including windchill) is less than –20 degrees Celcius, students will be heading outside for all or part of the recess. Please keep in mind that the temperature fluctuates throughout the day, so students should be prepared to go outside at any time during the day. Please note that other winter factors such as high winds, icy conditions, etc. will be taken into consideration when deciding whether to go outside.
